The house rules.

Welcome to Makaan.rent (“Makaan”, “we”, “our”), operated by iMobile Designs, an Indian entity based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. These Terms govern your use of the platform at https://makaan.rent (the “Service”).

By using the Service you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. If we materially change these Terms, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top and notify you via the site — continued use means you accept the new Terms.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts. The Service is intended for use in India; we make no representation that it's appropriate or available outside India.

• Sign in is via WhatsApp/SMS OTP — there's no password for you to share or leak.
• You're responsible for keeping your phone number secure and current.
• One account per person. We may suspend duplicate or fraudulent accounts.
• You agree to provide accurate information (name, phone, etc.) and keep it up to date.

You may only list properties that you own, manage, or have explicit authorization to advertise. By posting a listing you agree that:

• All information (rent, deposit, photos, address, amenities) is true and current.
• Photos are of the actual property — no stock images, no photos of other properties.
• You'll keep listings updated and mark them inactive once rented.
• You won't post duplicate or fake listings.
• You'll respond to legitimate inquiries in good faith.

We may remove listings that violate these rules without prior notice.

When you tap “Contact on WhatsApp” you initiate a direct conversation with the lister. You agree to:

• Use inquiries in good faith for genuine rental interest.
• Not spam, harass, or send abusive messages.
• Not solicit unrelated services (loans, insurance, broker services, etc.).

Some services on Makaan are paid — currently featured-listing placements, with more coming (e.g. rent agreement generation). Payments are processed by Razorpay. By paying you agree to:

• The price displayed at the time of purchase.
• Our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
• Applicable taxes (GST, etc.).

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest content without our written permission.
• Use bots or automation to create listings or send inquiries.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your role (e.g. listing as “owner” when you're a broker).
• Interfere with the Service's security or infrastructure.
• List or solicit illegal accommodation arrangements.
• Use stolen or fraudulent payment methods.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Content you upload (listing photos, descriptions, etc.) remains yours. By uploading you grant Makaan a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content as part of running the Service.

The Service itself — including the design, code, brand, and editorial content — is owned by iMobile Designs and protected by copyright and other IP laws.

The Service is provided as-is and as-available. We don't verify the legal status of every listing, the identity of every lister, or the accuracy of every photo and description. You're responsible for your own due diligence before signing a lease, paying a deposit, or making any other financial commitment.

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:

• Makaan and iMobile Designs are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (₹0 if you've only used free features).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless iMobile Designs, Makaan, and our affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

You may delete your account at any time by emailing support@imobiledesigns.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or for any other reasonable cause. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that should reasonably survive (IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
